It’s Time To Dance

This is a song written for my younger sister at the end of 2023. It takes me over two months to record and produce the song, and I’ve finally published it on 1/16/2024. It was not easy and it’s still not perfect, since I’m not a singer (while my sister is actually a great one with the most beautiful voice in this world), but I really enjoy this experience.

And to my sister - you know what this is for…you know I will always love you.

Composed, sang, and produced by Ming Yuan in 2024

Lyrics

In your red shoes

In your white dress

You are dancing In the rain

to the rhythm of the wind

The drops are sliding

down your hair

as a veil of silver threads

mirroring your shining eyes

Dance till the sunset

Dance till a new day

It’s time to dance

Dance with your new song

Put on your white crown

Forget what they’ve said

Rain is tapping

Trees are whispering

Dancing on falling leaves

A quilt of golden dreams

The water curtain

blocks the sun

But you are the glowing star

Everywhere is your stage

Dance till the sunset

Dance till a new day

It’s time to dance

Dance with your new song

Put on your white crown

Forget what they’ve said

Rain is pouring, wind is whipping

The sun is hiding, the bloom is falling

“You should sit still”, they are yelling

“Your dress is nice, better keep it stunning.”

Dance till the sunset

Dance till a new day

It’s time to dance

Dance with your new song

Put on your white crown

Forget what they’ve said

Dance in the pouring rain

Dance in the whipping wind

It’s time to dance

Dance with your new song

Put on your white crown

Forget what they’ve said
